Now, im by no means a model [unless you pay me heartily and without reserve] - however ill give anything a go once [twice, or repeatedly] for the right reasons.
I consider some of the right reasons to be as follows:
-supporting independent creators with an eye for artistry and style?
-showing love to the U.K. and the people that make it cool?
-being in the middle of recording my next album and desperately needing a constructive break to ease my addled mind or all its [trivial] worries?
-being asked. [yeah]
In any case, it was a fucking splendid opportunity to meet some incredibly talented and unique individuals that i had a great day with.
Also, i was in a castle. [YEAH].

The birdcastle.
The birdcastle is/was/will be again my studio/lab/creative space/refuge.
To date there have been three incarnations of the birdcastle.
1st - (2004-2006) Located just outside of Birmingham, England. Recording site of material for my lost albums “Damaged Gods”, “BaRDs Thoughts and things in that nature”, some material from the Avatar Mixtape “Wiring Nightmare” and the STILL AVAILABLE “Monomaniacy”.
2nd - (2010-2012) Located in Dallas, Texas. Recording site for albums and mixtapes “Time and Love”, “Grown Folks Music”, “Certain Falsehoods”, “The StudioLo Freestyles”, “The Beauty of the Beast” and “The Truth Is”.
3rd - (2012….) Located internationally. Recording site for upcoming projects.
Its important to know that the birdcastle is not just a place, its a feeling. It is a level of consciousness. For all the artists and friends of mine that have been in and into the birdcastle they know this. The birdcastle is a state of mind, a safe creative space, a consortium of creation and a manner of direction.
Long live the birdcastle.

I have always loved the songwriting of Andy McKee and think his guitar playing is simply sublime so i took the opportunity to remix one of his pieces adding some percussion and harmonic melodies and the like.
The video footage is poorly shot and nostalgically edited by BaRD.
I feel that the juxtaposition of the incredible violence a shark is capable of coupled with the fluidity and beauty of their movement and the accompanying music is perfect. I also feel that the shark embodies the ultimate spirit of the drifter or drifting as the meander effortlessly through history and the ocean surviving on their own keen wits and skills.
A life to be envied and perfect back drop for the song Drifter, a remix by BaRD of Andy McKee very beautiful Drifting.

LOW BUDGET VIDEO-
Recently, due to one reason and another. I have found myself the subject of some low budget video endeavors.
Apparently, i want to be seen singing.
Both videos accompany tracks from my forthcoming album “The Truth Is” which will be with you before the end of the month.
The uppermost video, “sad” was shot and edited by Rodney “Frost” Clinkscales of GanGreen Productions. This cute little video really doesnt do justice to the majority of his work which is modern, comic and well thought out. Id love you to take a look at some more of his work. A good friend, old teammate and artistic collaborator. Take a look.
The lower video i shot by myself over the course of a couple of hours. It was actually intended to be a gift but under duress i have released it to the particular scrutiny of the general public. It certainly was a change from the usual “me looking concerned and looking out of shot” photo that usually accompanies my music in the videos that I have posted so far.
In any case, it was fun to throw them together at the end of 2011.
